There are many such farmers in Uttar Pardesh who have taken farming loan from the bank.The UP government is helping these farmers through the Kisan Karj Rahat Yojana. This scheme was started on 9th July 2017 to provide loan relief to the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. Under the scheme, about 86 lakh farmers will get freedom from crop loans.

Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi told that after the formation of Yogi Adityanath‘s government in the year 2017, the decision to waive farmers’ loans was taken in the cabinet meeting. But during that time the scheme was not implemented due to some technical issues. Now the Agriculture Department has prepared a proposal to waive off the loan amount of up to Rs 1 lakh to the farmers and for this they demanded Rs 190 crore from the Circle Department. After getting the approval of the Finance Department, on January 5/2023, a notification has been issued by the government to waive off the loans.
